play-doh


in an effort to make this blog a bit more shallow, i though i might post today about a conversation i was having with someone last night about play-doh. we were commenting on how much we love the scent, and i mentioned that i had always thought someone should turn it into a cologne, eau d' play-doh. so i was going to write about that and include a picture of play-doh on the post. so i did an image search on google for play-doh and look what turned up: a bottle of play-doh cologne spray. are you kidding me? this is awesome! you can actually spray yourself with the incredible aroma of a freshly opened can of children's clay. this has got to be a sign of the end times or something. when humanity is doing this, well...we have issues. anyway, here's the link to read more about it: http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/8137.shtml.

well, all I can say is... I LOVE shallow posts! And I do NOT love the smell of play doh. I remember reading about that eau du playdoh scent awhile back and thought, geesh, why can't someone turn my favorite scent into a cologne?

now, mind you, I don't hate the smell of the stuff like some people do, but I just can't imagine walking around all day smelling like it. We were playing with some play doh this morning and I thought it smelled somewhat comforting- a childhood memory smell, if you will.

exactly! that's how its being marketed, as a kind of familiar and comfortable smell, one that brings you back to your childhood.

I've heard about this before - I didn't click on the link but from what I remember that lovely play doh scent doesn't come cheap!

I too like the shallow posts. I have a hard enough time gathering thoughts to compose something for my own blog! But you seem to get some good discussions going - I'm enjoying reading along...

this is exactly my kind of post. although i think rubbing play doh on your skin would have the same effect as this cologne....

i have tried it. it doesn't work because the play-doh gets all dry and doesn't blend in with your skin, unless your skin is lizard green.

happiness is dry underwear

we started potty training jack on thursday. we followed a program called POTTY TRAIN IN ONE DAY, which, by the way, i think is kind of crazy. i mean, if someone were to offer you a book called, "ACHIEVE WORLD PEACE IN ONE DAY" i don't think you would take it seriously. and yet here we are, trying to accomplish an equally daunting task in one 24-hour period. it is intense. the day is shrouded in a lie because as soon as your happily diapered child wakes up you tell him that it is a big party. we had balloons and streamers and noisemakers and silly string - all the trappings of a legitimate party. but it is most certainly not a party. it is a hellishly exhausting day. as soon as jack got out of bed, we gave him a present: an anatomically correct doll that wets himself. jack named him quincy. several times quincy successfully peed in the potty and even had an accident or two in his "big boy underwear." he also dropped a deuce that looked and smelled sus...
