finally. finally.
baseball is back.
bat cracks and leather popping and the crunch of cleat against that beautiful dirt. hand signals and knuckleballs and split-fingered, wood-splintering fastballs. warning tracks and bullpens and cans of corn. hot dogs and hamburgers and homeruns, oh yes, homeruns!
there is a vernacular that has been dormant all these months. there are mounds of dirt that have sat unused in wintry grayness, only to emerge this week in glorious golden bloom, bursting forth with baseball. baseball.
praise the lord and play ball!
