wonderland of color

a couple of weekends ago we went to the crayola factory with my mom and dad (its only about 20-25 minutes away) and we had a great time. here are some pics from the wonderland of color. you take a tour of the place and at many points you can stop and make stuff if you want to. it happened to be picasso's birthday that day so i made a cubist self-portrait of myself. i also made a puppet out of a paperbag and a melted wax color card. fun for me AND the kids! anyway, enjoy the pics. have a great thursday.

ooo, i would love to go there sometime! Gabriel is my little artist and would think he died and went to heaven to step foot in the crayola wonderland!

(he was so excited to get a carousel of 150 crayons for his 6th birthday!)

I'm reading The Last Lecture and just today read chapter 49: "Get in Touch with Your Crayon Box," in which Randy talks about how crayons help us re-connect with our childhood dreams. He writes: "When I need to go back in time, I put it under my nose and I take another hit." 'Nuf said.

Isn't it a fun place. My friend from Staten Island, NY and I took her two little grandsons on a day trip there - I think we had as much fun as the boys did. ~Gail~
